DFM ANALYSIS
DFM Transparency

What we check before quotation

A credible DFM review should be specific. These items enter the first manufacturing-risk scan and appear as notes, suggestions and 3D annotations when geometry is available.

Scope note: DFM scoring does not replace final engineering review, material certificates, heat-treatment distortion validation, functional testing or customer-side assembly validation.

Geometry Risk

  • Internal sharp corners: Rmin and tool-radius accessibility
  • Thin walls and isolated ribs: thickness, support and chatter risk
  • Deep cavities: depth/width ratio, bottom access and long-tool limits
  • Freeform surfaces and multiple datums: 5-axis and locating risk

Hole / Thread Risk

  • Blind threads: bottom clearance, relief groove and tap overtravel
  • Hole edge distance: minimum wall stock and breakout risk
  • Deep holes: L/D ratio, chip evacuation, runout and rigidity
  • Metric / imperial thread conflicts between drawing and form data

Drawing Conflict

  • Material conflicts between drawing notes and customer form data
  • Tolerance conflicts across ISO / ANSI / JIS defaults and local callouts
  • Surface finish thickness impact on fits and threads
  • Unspecified dimensions requiring manual engineering assumptions

Report Output

  • 3D issue highlighting and click-through explanations
  • Risk reason, recommended change and likely cost direction
  • Customer can choose to accept suggestions or keep the original drawing
  • Engineering team reviews final choices before formal quotation
QA
Trust / QA Evidence Center

Quality evidence buyers can verify

Engineering buyers need machining capability and documentation closure. QA evidence can be provided during quotation, first article or shipment depending on project requirements.

CNC machining workflow
QA EVIDENCE AVAILABLE

ISO 9001 quality workflow

Inspection photos, critical dimension checks and CMM / FAIR / MTR documentation can be arranged by project requirements.

Evidence is provided by project when drawings, specifications and NDA requirements are confirmed. Andas controls engineering review, first-article checkpoints, QA document packages and delivery follow-up; special finishing records are coordinated through approved process partners when required.

ISO 9001:2015

Certificate copies, partner qualification records and QA evidence packages can be reviewed through the sales window before formal cooperation.

CMM / FAIR

First article inspection, CMM dimensional reports and CTQ sampling plans can be defined from the drawing.

MTR / EN 10204 3.1

Metal parts can be supported with material certificates, heat/lot traceability, hardness and chemistry records when available from the supply source.

Shipment QC / Surface Record

Anodizing thickness, plating requirements, heat-treatment hardness and third-party testing can be confirmed against the final specification.

Certificate request

Ask for the latest certificate copy, QA package, or Andas process-control summary before project launch.

CMM / FAIR sample

Desensitized report format showing CTQ dimensions, sampling logic and first-article checkpoints.

MTR traceability

Material certificate sample covering lot traceability, chemistry, hardness and EN 10204 3.1 style records.

Treatment record

Surface finish, plating, hard anodizing, heat-treatment hardness and inspection evidence can be packaged by project.

Shipment QC

Outgoing inspection photos, packing notes and critical dimension summary can be attached before shipment.

Predictable Delivery

From RFQ to shipment, what happens and when

01 / Upload

Upload drawings

Customer submits STEP / IGES / PDF, material, quantity and QC requirements.

02 / DFM

DFM review

AI plus engineering rules scan risks; complex parts move to manual engineering review.

03 / Quote

Formal quote

Quote separates material, machining, surface treatment, inspection, packing and logistics conditions.

04 / PO

PO / Payment

Confirm drawing revision, delivery terms, quality documents and payment conditions.

05 / First Article

First article / FAIR

Samples usually take 5-10 working days depending on material and complexity.

06 / Shipment

Production / shipment

Batch production usually takes 10-20 working days; rush jobs depend on process windows.

Prototype / small batch: Prototype and small-batch requests are accepted; pricing is more efficient from 100 pcs per same part number.
Expedite: Rush availability depends on material, tooling, surface treatment and machine schedule; expedite cost, if required, is quoted separately after process review.
Capacity: CNC machining, first-article checks, CMM/FAIR documentation, EDM, heat treatment and surface finishing can be planned under one Andas-managed workflow.
